Spiced Honey Glazed Walnuts

These addictive, crunchy spiced honeyglazed walnuts take just 10 minutes to whip up and are so versatile, if you canstop eating them straight out of the pan!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, see notes
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoon flaked sea salt

Instructions

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium sized frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the honey and cumin seeds (or any other spices you’re using) and stir until the honey becomes runny and just starts to bubble. Add the walnuts and mix quickly, making sure all the walnuts get coated in the honey butter.
    1 cup walnuts, 1 tablespoon butter, 2 tablespoons honey, ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Continue to cook and stir for 3-4 minutes, until the walnuts warm and become fragrant. Sprinkle with flaked sea salt.
    ¼ teaspoon flaked sea salt
  • Pour the walnuts out onto the lined baking tray and working quickly, spread them out with a spatula so they’re in a single layer and not clumped together. Set aside to cool and firm up before storing them in an air-tight jar. Store at room temperature for a week.

Notes

Change up the spices and flavourings to suit your tastes. Walnuts pair well with these flavours: cinnamon, cayenne pepper, chilli flakes, coffee, dried figs, fennel seeds, glazed ginger, orange zest, vanilla and white pepper. And finish it off with a sprinkle of sea salt.
